Classroom activities
Data as of 2026-10-15
Each activity follows the layout of ESA’s “teach with space” sheets: at a glance, objectives, a teacher guide with the answer key, then a pupil sheet that starts on a new page when printed. Every figure of an answer key is computed by Galaxy or quoted from a sourced fact, and a test holds it.
- Why are there seasons?: Pupils test a widespread idea, “it is hot in summer because the Earth is closer to the Sun”, by watching the real Earth side-on at the four turning points of the year, then at the date when it passes closest to the Sun.
- Does the Nile Delta change?: Pupils compare two editions of the same satellite mosaic over the same place, west of Cairo, and learn to tell what a satellite observed from what the scene only computes.
